Welcome to the Audi F1 Project.
Audi will compete in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship from 2026.
The new team has three locations. The Audi Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany) is considered one of the most modern of its kind in Europe. The Sauber Group's Formula 1 Factory in Hinwil (Switzerland) is known for its innovative technologies and passion for racing. The Sauber Motorsport Technology Center in the United Kingdom will start operations this year. Our power unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for chassis development and race operations.

This position for the Audi F1 Project is to be filled at Audi Formula Racing GmbH in Neuburg (Germany).
In the area of combustion engine development, you will work on the combustion process development/application of a high-performance power unit. Your task is to develop maximum engine performance and efficiency in the areas of combustion processes, turbocharging, and application, while maintaining the required reliability. You will carry out development work in the concept and design phases as well as in the commissioning and testing phases.
This position is available starting January 1, 2026.
Your tasks
Development of a high-performance/high-efficiency combustion process for motorsport
Development of an innovative injection/ignition system and ATL charging system
Execution and evaluation of engine tests on single-cylinder, full-engine, powertrain and component test benches
Fuel development in cooperation with the fuel manufacturer
Highly dynamic application for engine-transmission-MGU drivetrain
Your profile
Technical studies in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering or construction engineering (Bachelor, Master, Diploma or Dr. Ing.)
Several years of experience in the field of high-performance engine development in the field of combustion processes and application
In-depth knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, fuel development and measurement technology
Extensive knowledge in the design and development of turbocharging (ATL), injection and ignition systems
Experience in operating single-cylinder, highly dynamic full engine and powertrain test benches
Knowledge of test bench and motorsport evaluation tools (Inca, PUMA, Concerto, WinTax, etc.)
Knowledge of engine management systems
Experience with special component parts (fuel, flow, spray, hot gas parts)
Strong teamwork skills, organizational skills and a high sense of responsibility
Independent and structured way of working
Fluent German or English skills as well as the willingness to learn basic knowledge of the other language are required
